About DACHeilind Electronics, the first DAC Group company, was founded by Bob Clapp in 1974. Mr. Clapp has always believed strongly in the value of specialization. He is also committed to insuring the customer's voice is heard and their needs not merely met, but always exceeded. With these principles in mind, Heilind Electronics has been successful from the start. In 1982, to further sharpen its focus, the company divided into two divisions – the original Heilind and the new DB Roberts Company – creating one organization for interconnect components and the other for fasteners. The company, now the DAC Group, has developed into a nationwide network of branches covering the U.S. with several strategic acquisitions. The largest are Force Electronics, acquired in 1986 and Gateway Megatech, acquired in 1998. Operations covering Mexico and Canada were added later allowing for complete coverage throughout North America. International expansion plans are continuing with a presence in Asia Pacific anticipated very soon. Operations in Europe will follow shortly thereafter. A global presence will allow the DAC Group to provide a seamless supply chain across all continents. With a compounded annual growth rate of over 20%, it is easy to see how the DAC Group has become the largest Interconnect & Specialty Fastener Distributor in the world. Today, the company continues to uphold the values it was founded on: focus on what you are the best at and always meet, or exceed, the customer's expectations. |
